12:35:00 PM A rare blog post
Heh. I suck. Haven't posted in OH SO LONG but I'm here. I've made audioblog posts annnd photoblog posts. No podcasts though cos of the previous suckage I mentioned. Tried to go see Hitchhikers Guide last night but no dice-- instead we got to hangout with some really cool people and even brought them back to my house to chill instead of going to the movie which in truth for 99% of movies out there I'd much rather do anyways :) Though I do love movies and I WILL have to see HHG eventualy. One of those 1% movies though is Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. That movie is going to be like the ONE ring of all the star wars movies. Hmm lets try:
Ash nazg durbatulūk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulūk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.
*cough cough* Oh wai you can't read that? Lemme translate:
Three Movies for the 70s kids from the Land of ILM,
Seven years from nineteen eighty three to nineteen-ninety,
Nine more years from then and Mortal Men thought they were doomed to die,
And then one more from whom they now said was the Dark Lord of revise,
From the Land of ILM where they said their childhood memories died.
But now comes the One Movie to rule them all, One Movie to find them,
One Movie to bring them all and in it's darkness bind them
From the Land of ILM where their childhood memories now will thrive!
:)

Now some links.

    Rest in peace, Link.

One of the last photos I took of my dog Link. We had to put him down yesterday. He was 13.

    9:55:00 PM Personal Air Show
    Personal Air Show

I took this picture from my side yard on 4/9/05 while I was doing yardwork on the first day of our local air show. The next day I decided to bust out the digital SLR and didn't get a single shot that was as good as this one. Sometimes you win some, sometimes you lose some.

Even still, this time, I won :)

    Lens flare eclipse

Here I took a shot of today's eclipse with a polarized filter over the camera.

Note: don't try this at home.

Supernote: OMG you can see the eclipse in the lens flare!!!

    Projecting the eclipse

Here is a self shadow portrait of myself holding up a slit-hole viewer and projecting today's eclipse onto a white cardboard box. If you zoom in tight enough you can actually make out the partial eclipse!

4'x8' drywall sheet + Stow 'n Go = teh win!

One of the benefits of owning a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT is that it comes standard with Stow 'n Go seating. This allows me to fold ALL of the seats (except driver and passenger seats) into the floor. Here is a picture of a 4 foot by 8 foot drywall sheet laying flat in my van after I folded down the seats. Coulda used this during hurricane season last year for plywood damnit!

    Ahh well :)

Another benefit of Stow 'n Go seating is that we fold down the seats when the dogs ride in the van, and when I unfold them from the stow 'n go compartments they are always clean! Yay! No more dirty dog seats!

    2:27:00 AM French Drain!
    French Drain!

When the addition on our house was built they never bothered to raise the foundation and consequently we experience water seeping in during heavy rains. These devices help collect and redirect water away from the house and low-lying foundation. Toby is pictured here giving us moral support :)
