I loved it, I LOVED IT, *gets up on the roof*, I LOVED IT!
Don't listen to the haters. Pretend you don't know who's directing it, forget his past movies and go in with an open mind or else you stand the chance of becoming a hater too.
Fortunately, despite all the hate, it was still a success, by hollywood standards atleast, and my do-it-himself hero M. Night is busy on his next project. May the man never stop making films.

| Yeah, I can get behind that. I saw the movie while on a really bizarre date when it was out in theaters. I called the ending in the first minute of the film, which I'm normally really bad at, so I just sort of sat back and enjoyed the ride. There are some really great performances in the film, Howard's being one of them (she's also hot as all-get-out), and it's so incredibly well-crafted it was just a joy to watch for its technical sense alone. Maybe Shyamalan does need to have his twist-ending license revoked for a few movies, but this movie was held to unfair expectations. Me rikey. |

Today it was hard to wakeup. The first alarm went off and I snoozed it. Tara was not pleased to hear the second alarm go off and I did my best to try to worm my way into a third alarm when I realized that I would be better off just getting up and facing the music.
Facing the music persisted of sitting up on the side of the bed for 5 minutes and trying to fall asleep without also falling over and waking Tara. Then I dragged my feet into the bathroom and tried to fall asleep again in there as well.
Eventually I realized that I better get up, so I did and got into the shower and started that up. I had to struggle a bit with the water because I was so groggy, I couldn't get the temperature where I wanted it at first. Eventually everything was set and then I got to turn on the shower radio.
The shower radio is an el cheapo one that you have to physically turn in order to get good reception on certain stations. It hangs from a rope, so turning it and making it stay in one position is a challenge. This time I just turned it and left it leaning against the hose from the detachable showerhead.
On NPR they were talking about something that I forgot about once they mentioned the space shuttle. "OHH that's right, it's landing today!" I thought. 20 minutes until landing! So I went about my business in the shower, shaving using my Norelco Coolskin battery powered shaver, trying not to rush, even though I wanted to get out and turn on the TV as soon as possible so I could watch my Dad's coverage of the shuttle landing (he is a TV reporter and always covers the shuttle).
I managed to get out of the shower in time, having already heard that it had past the point of danger from reentry. But I had to turn off the radio, with only a few minutes left before touchdown, because otherwise it would wake Tara with the door open. Then I rushed getting dried and combing my hair and then threw on some clothes and made a mad dash, not knowing if it was already over or not.
I got to the living room, turned on the TV and there was my Dad's voice narrating the shuttle landing, it wasn't over yet. Having covered most of the shuttle launches and landings he knew exactly what was going to happen before it happened, and called it that way. It was like watching the Olympics where the announcers would call what kind of moves they would expect from the gymnasts and then the gymnasts did those exact moves seconds later, much to the audience's amazement. Except in the later case it was pre-recorded and possibly announced after the fact to make the announcers look like they knew what they were talking about. But not this time, my Dad just rocked it, live. When the coverage was over and they moved on to another reporter who was doing a live shot somewhere else in town, the reporter took a moment to recognize my Dad's good work and said "Wow, is he not the best?"
Yes, he is :).

Going on vacation? Look someone up who knows your friends and try to meetup with them at your new location, etc. Oh yeah, dating possibilities too, which is what these sites have received the most media coverage for.
But the reason I love it is because many of my old friends that I had lost touch with use it and by connecting with them through these sites, in theory, we should never lose touch again. Myspace and Friendster add on things like blogs, pictures, personal messages etc, and when you combine the power of bloglines with the power of friendster/myspace you've suddenly got an easy way to keep in touch with everyone by only having to check one website for every new personal message, blog post and picture added. You'll REALLY never lose touch again. It's hard enough to remember to check a website daily, much less a dozen, but not with bloglines!
